Hours, plans and invites

How time counts, how to buy it and how to get a little more.

Three separate jars: each is used on its own, and they never mix

How time counts

1. From start to end, except while paused

The clock runs from the moment a conversation starts, whether anyone is speaking or not. Taking a break? Press Pause: paused time doesn’t count.

All your devices share one balance. Two devices in conversations at the same time use it twice as fast.
When someone watches your conversation through sharing, it costs neither you nor them any time.

2. What uses time faster, and what’s free

Counts double

×2Speak translation: while translations are read into your earbuds×2Mock practice on an Interview Pass: the AI interviewer speaks. Without a pass, practice uses Wingman time at the normal rate

Uses no time

Reviews: counted one by one, with a daily limitAsk CueBee: counted per question, with a monthly number that depends on your planWatching a conversation someone shares

Speaking a background into the microphone (voice input) uses Wingman time, about a minute per background.

3. What ends soonest goes first

A jar can hold several lots of hours. CueBee always uses the one that ends first and keeps permanent hours for last, so nothing goes to waste.

In an interview with an Interview Pass, the pass is used first, then Wingman time.

Plans

Each plan’s hours: see the pricing page

4. The plans

Free

New accounts get 3 hours of Wingman and 3 hours of translation once. They never expire, and no card is needed.

Lite · Pro · Super

Wingman and translation, a new lot every month. Billed monthly or quarterly. Higher plans have more hours and more uses a month.

Translation only

Translate and Translate Plus: translation only, with no Wingman and no Speak translation. Billed monthly.

Interview Pass

Buy it once and it lasts a set number of days; it doesn’t renew. It holds interview time and premium answers, for interviews and mock practice only. Buy another and the time adds up.

Every plan also comes with monthly counts: Ask CueBee, background generation, translation contexts, premium interview answers and more. They reset on the 1st of each month. When premium interview answers run out, CueBee switches to the faster model and still answers.

5. Plan hours come monthly, for that month

Counting from the day you buy, a new lot arrives every month and lasts until the next month starts. Unused hours don’t carry over. Quarterly plans come one month at a time too: you can’t use later months early.

Free hours and hours from invites are permanent: they never expire.

6. Where to buy, and changing plans

A cheaper plan

Buy it for a single month, or switch to it when your plan renews.

Cancel

Use it to the end of the period; you’re not charged again.

A plan bought with Apple on iPhone can only be changed or cancelled on an iPhone or iPad.
Refunds: for a plan bought with Apple, ask Apple; on cuebee.ca, open your account page and choose Request a refund to get back the unused months. For an Interview Pass refund, email us.

7. Running low, and running out

In the last 30 minutes of Wingman time, the floating window shows the minutes left, and reminds you again at 5 minutes and at 1. With less than an hour of Wingman time left, Home tells you. Home always shows the Wingman, interview and translation time left. On the translation page, Quota at the top shows it anytime. When time runs out, the conversation stops and everything said so far is saved. A conversation you’re sharing is paused.

Still have questions?

Can a translation plan use Wingman?

No. Translate and Translate Plus are translation only, and they don’t include Speak translation.

Can I use an Interview Pass in a regular conversation?

No. It only works in interviews and mock practice started from an interview background. Regular conversations use Wingman time.

If I change plans, do I lose the hours I have left?

No. Hours you already have stay, and each lot ends on its own date. Upgrading with Apple on iPhone is the exception: Apple refunds the unused part of the old plan, and those hours end.

My friend signed up. Why haven’t I got my reward?

Your friend counts only after using CueBee for a while, and the reward comes then. They also have to open your link and sign up on the web: signing up straight in the app doesn’t count for you.
